Giants look for statement win vs. Fox Valley Force
The Rochester Giants will travel to Appleton, WI this Saturday to take on the Fox Valley Force. The Giants (1-1) look to build on a tight victory in their last game, but will have an energized Force squad waiting for them.
The Force, who were last year’s Eastern Division Champion, are undefeated so far this season and will host the Giants in their 2010 home opener.
The game, which is the first interleague contest of the year for either team, will give the Giants an opportunity to see if the potential they have displayed in past games continues when matched up against a team who came within one touchdown of winning the league championship last season.
The Giants outstanding defense, which has forced 11 turnovers in two games, should be tested by the Force’s passing game. Led by Quarterback TJ Arndt and Receiver Andy DeBruin, Fox Valley has managed six touchdowns through the air in their first two contests, the pair collecting four.
The Giant’s offense isn’t one to be taken lightly either. Rochester has been able to gain 418 yards through the air, and has used the tandem of Running Backs Chad Strike and Jimmy Barker to grind 221 rushing yards out of opposing defenses.
For the Giants, this is the start of a two game stint which has them playing in Appleton this and traveling to Woodbury, MN next weekend before returning for a two game home stand.
