Giants get handed second loss by Force
The Rochester Giants got handled by the Fox Valley Force suffering a lopsided 45-10 loss in semi-pro football Saturday afternoon.
The Giants, whose first two games were decided by a total margin of four points, battled a rain-soaked afternoon and a series of injuries, but weren’t able to keep things interesting as they fell to the undefeated Force.
The Giants shot out to an early 7-0 lead, starting off with a bang on both sides of the ball, but quickly saw Fox Valley get the upper hand and never look back.
The Giants defense shut down the Force early as linebacker Billy Quistorff recorded a pair of tackles for loss and an interception within the first two Fox Valley possessions.
Rochester’s offense also got in on the early action as they responded by Andre Hernandez hauling in an 86 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Nick Ferraro on the Giant’s first play of the day.
After that it was all Force. Fox Valley, using a rotating pair of quarterbacks and speeding receivers, capitalized on multiple big plays during the contest.
At the end of the day, Fox Valley had recorded four rushing touchdowns combined with three through the air as the Giant’s only managed an additional field goal.
The Giants resume action next Saturday, traveling to Woodbury for a rematch with the Minnesota Phoenix.
The Giants beat the Phoenix May 22nd in a close 21-20 battle.
